What is Vat-Margin?
Laptop Station is a VAT Registered Business in the UK, as a result we collect 20% VAT on all eligible purchases, we are also registered under the VAT Margin Scheme which means that some products do not have VAT charged on them.
The VAT Margin Scheme is government tax scheme which removes the requirement to charge VAT on second user goods. So no 20% tax added to your purchases!
You can find out more info here.
Why are we using it?
Laptop Station has an expansive supply chain, some of which are running on the VAT Margin Scheme. This means that when we make a purchase, we are not charged VAT and so cannot reclaim it when we file our VAT Returns. Therefore, we do not need to charge our customers when they make a purchase on an eligible product.
What do our customers need to be aware of?
When a customer makes a purchase of a product which is eligible for the Vat Margin Scheme you will see no VAT breakdown in your basket or on your invoice. If you are a VAT registered business then you will not be able to reclaim VAT on your purchase.
The Benefit of course to non-vat registered customers is that you do not pay VAT on your purchase which is currently set at 20% in the UK.
